THIN COATING LAYER
Coating Thickness:
70 a 100 μm
The coating thickness varies between 70 to 100 μm and cannot be controlled. A thicker layer chips more easily when subjected to mechanical stress and strain.
Cataphoretic Coatings
10 a 30 μm max.
The coating thickness is carefully controlled within a range of 10 to 30 μm. Thanks to its minimal thickness, the paint does not chip when subjected to mechanical stresses.

Surface coverage: HIGH
Powder coatings
With powder coating, it is difficult to reach the inner areas of the springs. The paint layer is thicker on the outer parts and thinner or even absent on the inner areas. The paint thickness is not uniform.
Electrophoretic Coating
Electrophoretic painting covers the entire surface, including edges, with a uniform layer, even on objects with complex geometries. Issues like dripping, common with other painting processes, are NOT present. The coating on Special Springs’ mold springs is complete and uniform.
HIGH CORROSION RESISTANCE
Powder coating
Although powder coating offers greater inherent resistance due to its thick layer, overall protection is inferior. This is because the powder does not effectively deposit on internal areas, leaving some parts exposed. Consequently, corrosion resistance is reduced, especially on the inner sections of mold springs.
Electrophoretic Coating
The inclusion of an acrylic chemical binder ensures excellent corrosion resistance. This characteristic is further enhanced by uniform coverage and thickness, even inside the spring.

HIGH MECHANICAL STRENGTH
Powder coating
Powder coating is characterized by thick layers, which increases the likelihood of flaking when subjected to impacts. This results in lower mechanical strength.
Electrophoretic Coating
Thanks to the thinner applied layer, electrophoretic painting results in optimal surface adhesion. This feature ensures greater overall mechanical strength.
