THE CONTROL DELAY SYSTEMS
Control delay systems are the ideal solution for meeting the demands of particularly complex sheet metal processing, especially in situations where controlling the extension movement of the cylinders is necessary.
The ability to control the return of the cylinder rods minimizes the risk of deformation of the stamped part, enhancing processing effectiveness and production efficiency.
Special Springs offers two control delay systems:
- The Hydraulic Control Delay System, which uses hydraulic cylinders, available in two versions: integrated into the mold (IN-DIE SYSTEM) and with an external cooling unit (EXTERNAL UNIT SYSTEM).
- The new Gas Control Delay System, which uses nitrogen cylinders.
Hydraulic Control Delay System
The hydraulic control delay system is available in two versions: the IN-DIE SYSTEM, fully integrated into the mold, and the EXTERNAL UNIT SYSTEM, which utilizes an external hydraulic unit. The choice between versions depends on the amount of heat generated during processing and the size and number of cylinders to be managed.
Cylinder connections can be managed using a support plate with channels, similar to the Easy Manifold system, or via pipes.
The hydraulic system is known for its high reliability, ensured by the fluid that continuously lubricates the seals.
Using hydraulic oil provides optimal heat dissipation, with an automatic heat exchanger activating as needed.
Gas Control Delay System
The new Gas Control Delay System represents the latest evolution in Special Springs’ range of control delay systems.
This system locks the blank holder in the position corresponding to the lower dead center, preventing part distortion during the upward press stroke.
Special Springs offers two solutions based on project requirements: if it is sufficient to lock the blank holder movement with slight cylinder extension (spring-back), the STANDARD LOCKING can be used. If it is necessary to lock the movement without any cylinder extension, LOWER LOCKING is required.
Where possible, control delay cylinders are equipped with the typical safety features found in Special Springs products.
