CNC Machines for Gas Spring Production

To ensure the production of millions of parts with minimal waste and quickly respond to customer needs, Special Springs operates 30 CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines. Our specialized technicians, in constant collaboration with designers, receive ongoing training on the latest software.

CNC Machines for Wire Spring Processing

Special Springs’ technological equipment is designed to support high production volumes. The main stages of wire spring processing—both standardized and custom-made to specific dimensional or mechanical requirements—are performed by experienced technicians using dedicated winding machines, which are regularly maintained to ensure consistent performance over time.

Gas Spring Production and Assembly

Gas spring production and assembly are fully managed within Special Springs facilities, allowing direct control over every step of the process, from design to shipping.

Wire Spring Production

Production of mold springs begins with the selection of specific high-quality materials, such as SiCr steel. The wire is then shaped through a preforming process, followed by final forming, and cutting, which are performed using automatic or manual machines.

To ensure optimal strength and elasticity, the wire undergoes heat treatments, including quenching and tempering.

Special Springs’ ISO 10243, US Series, and most JIS B 5012 wire springs are treated with electrophoretic coating. Custom springs can be coated or simply oiled, depending on customer needs.

Before delivery, all wire springs undergo strict quality controls to ensure precision and compliance with the required specifications, guaranteeing an excellent final product.

E-COAT: Electrophoretic Coating for Wire Springs

The E-COAT electrophoretic coating provides optimal surface coverage with an ultra-thin layer (10-30 µm) that ensures excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance. This technology represents a remarkable innovation compared to traditional powder coating. Special Springs applies this coating to its range of wire springs using a cutting-edge facility, unique in Europe. It marks a significant step forward in product performance, reliability, and safety.
